🩺 Pharmacy First – Treatment Without Seeing a GP

Most pharmacies can now provide prescription medicines for certain conditions through the Pharmacy First service.

They can treat:

  • Earache (ages 1–17)
  • Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
  • Infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
  • Shingles (aged 18 and over)
  • Sinusitis (aged 12 and over)
  • Sore throat (aged 5 and over)
  • Urinary tract infections (women aged 16–64)

No GP appointment is needed.

GP appointments are available every Sunday and Bank Holiday for Calderdale patients:

How to Access

  • Call NHS 111
  • Answer the questions from the operator
  • If appropriate, you may be booked into a GP appointment
